NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME (NSS)

The NSS aims to instill the idea of social welfare in students, and to provide service to society without bias. NSS volunteers work to ensure that everyone who is needy gets help to enhance their standard of living and lead a life of dignity. Since 1975 the college has NSS unit. At present the college has two NSS units which consist of 200 volunteers. The volunteers undertake regular and special camping activities.
Under General NSS many programmes are conducted.

  1. To start with blood grouping is done to all the 200 volunteers with the help of Meesala Foundation, Nizamabad on 14th August.
  2. Haritha Haram programme and rally is organised on 25th August from college to collector ground by displaying the play cards for the protection of the environment. 

  3. International Youth day is celebrated on 28th August to draw the attention to a given set of cultural and legal issues of youth.

  4. Eco-friendly Ganesh “Matti Ganapathulu” is made by getting the mud or clay from ‘Basara’and distributed the same to the members of the management and staff on 12th September.
  5. Awareness programme on the rights of women is conducted on 18th September Rights Protection Federation by the Press Club, Nizamabad. 

  6. On 24th September NSS day is celebrated and the volunteers took up the activity of clean and green in the campus.

  7. On 26th September Mrs. Sophia Begum High Court Advocate and spoke on the legal rights of women. 

  8. Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) is conducted by the district authorities on 30th October on the importance of Right to Vote, registration of new voters and awareness on VPAT machines, and their role in choosing a proper representative. The meeting is addressed by M.R.M Rao, District Collector & Magistrate emphasized on the importance of casting vote and demonstrated the newly introduced VPAT machines. The programme is also attended by on Mr..K Simhachalam (Election In-Charge),Sri. I. Hari Babu (NYK Co-ordinator), Sri. Vishnu Sagar Tahasildar.  All the degree students have attended this programme. 
  9. 30 NSS volunteers helped the district authorities at the time of Election polls on 6th and 7th December.

Special Camp:

Unit I & II organized a special camp at Eliyanayak Thanda and Singampally Thanda, Makloor for 7 days from 9th to 15th October with hundred volunteers and two programme officers. Under NSS unit- I & unit -II the following programmes were conducted like door to door survey, awareness on ISL (Individual Sanitary Lavatories), Haritha Haram, Blood Grouping, HB test for women, Sakhi (One Stop Center)awareness, She Team awareness programme, Friday-dry day,  sanitation programmes,  Awareness programme on Gynecological problems, Bathukamma Celebrations, Global Hand Washing day awareness.  Volunteers presented skits on eradication of social evils, benefits of ISL’s, literacy, hygiene, child marriages, girl child protection etc.
